It wasreported on Dec. 28, 2020 that singer and actor Kim Myungsoo has decided to serve his mandatory military duty, to which his agency, Management Esang, confirmed by stating that the actor indeed applied for the Marine Corps and accepted to join.

And finally, Kim Myungsoo has officially entered the military in the afternoon of Feb. 22 KST. He will start his five weeks of basic training before his active service.
Kim Myung Soo has now enlisted for his mandatory military service. On February 22, Kim Myung Soo’s agency Management Esang confirmed that he enlisted that day in the Marine Corps. After five weeks of basic training, he’ll be carrying out active service. The day before, Kim Myung Soo shared a video message for fans. He said,
INFINITE s L (Kim Myungsoo) will be starting his military service next year!
According to an entertainment official on Dec. 28, INFINITE s L (Kim Myung Soo) recently applied for and passed the Marine Corps, and from the end of February next year, he will fulfill his duty as an active soldier. Kim is said to have planned and volunteered to enlist in the Marine Corps of his choice. Luckily, the singer got accepted. He is looking forward to carry out his mandatory military duties, according to an aide of INFINITE s L.
Apart from his enlistment, a source stated that Myungsoo is currently preparing a surprise gift for his fans before his military enlistment. While the entertainment industry persists in preventing military service and creating a scandal over military enlistment, the INFINITE member is garnering attention for his voluntary action to start as an active-duty soldier in the Marine Corps.
