NEW DELHI: The Hooghly constituency in West Bengal witnessed a closely contested election, with Rachna Banerjee of the All India Trinamool Congress em.
Locket Chatterjee, a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP and candidate from Hooghly, has expressed that the overall situation in her constituency is peaceful and everyone will exercise their franchise. Despite threats at some locations, Chatterjee believes voting is being done against corruption and in the name of PM Modi. She hopes that the Election Commission of India will ensure a free and fair election and urges people to come out and vote.

An AASHA worker was made to sit as a booth agent in lieu of money. She has been instructed to ask people to vote for Rachana. She is a Trinamool agent working as an assistant in booths asking people to vote for TMC. There is no other party slip with her, Chatterjee said while speaking to reporters.
