Mamata Banejree's remarks came a day after BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari said that there would be a "big explosion on Monday which will shake the TMC and its top brass.
Last week, the ruling party in the state had urged the Election Commission (EC) to merge the remaining three phases of the Assembly elections into one amid the frightening surge in COVID-19 cases and deaths.
Following the TMC s request, the Chief Electoral Officer in West Bengal called an all-party meeting over adhering to COVID-19 norms during the ongoing assembly elections.
The first five phases of the eight-phase West Bengal Assembly elections have already been completed. The sixth phase is scheduled for April 22, the seventh and the eighth phases will be held on April 26 and April 29. The counting of votes will take place on May 2.

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said on Friday she will call upon the Election Commission to stop the BJP from bringing “outsiders” during campaigning, squarely blaming the saffron party for exacerbating the COVID-19 situation in the state.
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Tuesday said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi should do “sit-ups holding ears” if he was found lying, ANI reported. Banerjee was addressing a rally in Barasat after the end of Election Commission’s 24-hour ban on her campaigning.
“Narendra Modi said that Mamata didi did nothing for Matua community,” Banerjee said. “I am publicly asking him to accept the challenge.If I have not done anything for them then I will leave politics, if you are lying then you will do sit-ups holding ears.”
The Matua community is comprised of Hindu refugees from Bangladesh. There are nearly 1.5 crore voters of the Matua community in West Bengal, who wield impact in at least 30 Assembly seats.
