West Bengal politics: Clashes erupt at BJP s Paribortan Yatra; Dilip Ghosh blames TMC

Mamata Banerjee Trinamool Congress has launched its principal campaign slogan for the upcoming West Bengal assembly polls. The slogan – ‘Bangla Nijer Meyekei Chaaye’ which translates to – ‘Bengal wants its own daughter ‘ was put up on hoardings along with a picture of Chief Minister Mamata Banarjee across the state when the ruling party made an official announcement from its headquarters in Kolkata. TMC secretary Partha Chatterjee stated that the people of the state want their own daughter who has been by their side for the last several years as their chief minister and we don’t want outsiders to call shots in Bengal.  TMC, the state’s ruling party has been in a constant political rivalry with the- BJP, labelling the opposition leaders as outsiders who are merely on an  ‘election tour’ in the state.  TMC also revealed the focus of its assembly poll campaign in 2021: To expel the ‘Bohiragato’ (outsiders)  from the state.

Trinamool loses 3 MLAs in a row: Now Silbhadra Dutta resigns

  A day after Trinamool Congress heavyweight Suvendu Adhikari resigned just hours before Jitendra Tiwari from the party, the trend continued on Friday as another legislator from Mamata Banerjee s party from Barrackpore assembly constituency, Silbhadra Dutta, too called it quits. According to sources, Dutta also replaced Banerjee s photo, hung on the wall of his office, with Swami Vivekananda. He surrendered the car given by the state government. He said if the government wants it can withdraw his security cover as well.   Dutta sent his resignation letter to Trinamool supremo Banerjee. I am tendering my resignation as a member of All India Trinamool Congress (AITC), as well as from all other positions held by me in the party and its associate organisations with immediate effect, he write in the letter.

BJP workers in Tripura carry out protest against attack on JP Nadda in WB ANI | Updated: Dec 12, 2020 03:10 IST Agartala (Tripura) [India], December 12 (ANI): Disgruntled Tripura Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders and workers on Friday organised a protest in Agartala against the recent stone pelting on the convoy of national party president JP Nadda in Kolkata. Protesters included BJP MLAs Sudip Roy Barman, Ramprashad Paul, Asish Saha, and Susanta Choudhury, besides hundreds of supporters. This protest is being carried out against the recent attack on BJP national president JP Nadda in West Bengal by Trinamool Congress hooligans of Mamata Banerjee, MLA Ramprashad Paul told ANI.
