with kim brunhuber. we re seeing a lot of anger across the united states this morning and demands for police reform, but all of it has been peaceful. the american cities were on edge that they might not be. this after the city of memphis released shocking police videos of the january 7th attack. in memphis, for example, protestors marched on to a major interstate bridge across the mississippi river bringing traffic to a standstill. no arrests. tyre nichols died three days after the violent encounter. he was just 29 years old. his funeral has been set for next wednesday. all five officers have been fired and on thursday they were charged with second degree murder, kidnapping and other offenses. arraignments are set for next month. we want to play some of the newly released videos. they are difficult and disturbing to watch and there s a lot of foul language. now we don t scenic cools being pulled over for alleged reckless driving but the first clip is from an officer arrivin
murdaugh. good morning, ever. it is saturday, january 28th. i m amara walker. good morning, amara. i m boris sanchez coming to you live from memphis, tennessee, where this morning the city is still reeling from the brutal beating of tyre nichols at the hands of five, now former memphis police officers. the full video of that beating was released to the public last night and it is extremely difficult to watch. absolutely. and as you would imagine, that video, the series of videos bringing out strong emotions for so many people last night and into this morning. it is difficult to watch. it shows the deadly encounter between tyre nichols and memphis police. the images and the four video clips are graphic. they are disturbing, as we said, and they are critical, though, to understanding the reality and gravity of what happened. now, nichols was pulled over january 7th allegedly for reckless driving, but the police chief said the department has been unable to find anything th
nichols. the full videos, released last night, show five former memphis police officers repeatedly beating the 29 year old, and i want to warn you, what you re about to watch is extremely graphic. the videos document nichols being pulled over earlier this month for alleged reckless driving. police are then seen yanking nichols from his car, chasing, kicking him, using pepper spray and batons. nichols, unarmed, cries out for his mother at one point. he died from his injuries three days later in the hospital, and those videos sparking largely peaceful protests all across the country. earlier this week the five officers involved were charged with second degree murder, and now after this video has come out two officers from a different department who are also on scene that night have been put on leave pending an investigation into their conduct. cnn s boris sanchez breaks down these newly released videos. again, a warning for you, they re very graphic. reporter: tyre nichols sc

good morning, everyone. i m don lemon live in memphis, tennessee, where in just moments we re going to speak with the parents of tyre nichols. you heard there the police chief of memphis talking about what she saw on that videotape, what we re going to see a little bit later on this evening, 6:00 central time, 7:00 after 6:00 central, after 7:00 eastern time, when that video is released. the police chief saying what she saw doesn t really explain why tyre nichols was stopped in the first place and it speaks to just how horrific this videotape is, saying that it is reminiscent, if not worse than what we saw with rodney king. take a listen. can we talk about the nature of the stop? why what was the nature? why was he stopped? i m going to be honest with you about the stop itself. what was said is that there was a witnessing of what was considered reckless driving. we ve looked at cameras, we ve looked at cameras, and even if something occurred prior to this stop, we v
