The public has been urged to participate in the selection process for the Mallow Relief Road, with a local County Councillor stressing it was important that local residents have their say on which route the road will take.
While Cllr Gearóid Murphy pointed out the final route chosen may be a combination of the four short-listed options, he was keen to ensure it did not impact on local residents. Having examined the options, I am concerned that option B - the route of the old train line - runs in very close proximity to many houses and estates on the edge of Mallow. By a rough count, I estimated that more than 100 households would be directly overlooking the road, said Cllr Murphy.
