NDE recruits 176 youths for skills acquisition training in Bayelsa

The National Directorate of Employment, NDE, has recruited 176 youths for skills acquisition training in Bayelsa State as part of its core mandate in vocational training and employment generation.
Director-General of NDE, Mallam Abubakar Fikpo, who stated this during the orientation ceremony for the new recruits in Yenagoa, said youths were selected across the eight local government areas of the state.
While commending the beneficiaries for embracing the scheme, the NDE DG who was represented by the Bayelsa State Coordinator of NDE, Mr. Ahamefule Osuchukwu, urged them to make good use of the opportunity, pointing out that data from the National Manpower Board indicates a decline in job openings at the formal sector of the economy, while there are lots of job vacancies at the informal sector where they will operate.

Participants at the three-month-long training in Imo State, have been admonished to take the training seriously and avail themselves of other opportunities offered by the National Directorate of Employment, (NDE).
The Acting Director-General of the Directorate, Mallam Abubakar Fikpo, said this at the official launching of its 2021 Sustainable Agricultural Development Training Scheme in Imo.
Fikpo, represented by the NDE coordinator in Imo State, Mrs Ngozi Ihenacho, thanked the Federal Government for its youth-friendly initiatives. He also thanked the NDE in Imo State for the transparent selection of the100 beneficiaries of the scheme, while pledging to work together with the state government to achieve the desired results.

DIRECTOR General of National Directorate of Employment, NDE, Mallam Abubakar Fikpo, has said the President Muhammadu Buhari’s led Federal Government was determined to eradicate poverty and unemployment in the country.
Fikpo, who stated this Asaba during the orientation ceremony of trainees of the Basic Open Apprenticeship Scheme (B-NOAS), said; “there is no gainsaying the fact that the issue of unemployment has been a great concern to the federal government.
The Director-General who was represented by the Delta State Coordinator, Mr Anthony Olu, said; “continuously, the President has demonstrated clearly his determination to empower youths through the activities of NDE and other federal government agencies that have the constitutional responsibility of empowering youths and creating jobs”.

Fayemi seeks extension of FG’s 774,000 special jobs

The Governor of Ekiti State, Dr Kayode Fayemi on Thursday commended the Federal Government for the establishment of a 774,000 special jobs scheme, saying a total of 16,000 employments will be generated in Ekiti alone with a sum of N960 million injected into the state’s economy.
Fayemi canvassed for the extension of the scheme beyond the three months specified period to enable a greater number of people to benefit from the scheme.
In the same vein, the Minister of Trade, Investment and Industry and the first executive Governor of Ekiti State, Chief Niyi Adebayo, described the programme as a landmark policy targeted at mitigating poverty and tackle the adverse effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.
