Leipzig (dpa) - Wegen Bauarbeiten im Süden von Leipzig müssen sich Bahnreisende von diesem Montag an auf längere Fahrzeiten, Zugausfälle und Ersatzverkehr mit Bussen einstellen. Betroffen sind vorrangig die Verbindungen Leipzig-Zwickau und Leipzig-Borna-Geithain. Grund ist der Ausbau der Sachsen-Franken-Magistrale von Leipzig bis Werdau für Geschwindigkeiten bis zu 160 Kilometern pro Stunde sowie die Modernisierung des Bahnhofs Borna samt Erneuerung von Brücken.
Zunächst sind Sperrungen zwischen Neukieritzsch und Böhlen sowie Neukieritzsch und Geithain vorgesehen. Sie werden nach Angaben der Deutschen Bahn bis in den September hinein dauern. Später folgen weitere Sperrungen zwischen Treben-Lehma und Altenburg (24. Juli bis 15. August) sowie Lehndorf und Gößnitz (19. August bis 2. September) in Ostthüringen.
