Top White House health officials made the announcement Friday morning at a news conference. The new site will be at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. Health officials said it will have the capacity to administer 6,000 shots a day, or 42,000 shots a week. [SIGN UP: The site will operate seven days a week for an eight-week period. The moves comes just a month after NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell sent a letter to the White House letting the Biden administration know that their stadiums would be ready to assist in a federal rollout.

Nearly 3.3 million additional Georgians will now be eligible to get the vaccine. Starting March 15, Georgians who are 55 and older and Georgians who have serious health conditions will be eligible to receive their vaccines. These are the health conditions provided by the governor’s office: Asthma, cancer, cerebrovascular disease, chronic kidney disease, COPD, cystic fibrosis, diabetes, hypertension, heart conditions, immunocompromised state, liver disease, neurologic conditions (Dementia, ALS, Parkinson’s), overweight and obesity (BMI > 25), pulmonary fibrosis, Sickle Cell disease, thalassemia.

Kemp announced beginning March 17 a total of 9 mass vaccination sites will be available across Georgia. ATLANTA - Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp made clear Wednesday his intention to prioritize vaccinating teachers for COVID-19 and to improve the state s vaccination rate by opening five new mass vaccination sites.  Five new vaccination sites will open on March 17. In addition to the previous four sites, the Georgia Department of Public Health will open sites in Chatham, Ware, Washington, Bartow, and Muscogee counties. This will increase doses given each week by 45,000.
