Govs, minister, CAN, Niger leader, others mourn
The Minister of Defence, Maj-Gen. Bashir Magashi (rtd.), on behalf of the Federal Government, has paid a condolence visit to the widow of the late Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Mrs. Fati Attahiru, at the Flag House, Niger Barrack, Abuja.
The visit was after the burial of Ibrahim Attahiru, who died with 10 others in a Kaduna plane crash. Accompanied by the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), Chief of Naval Staff (CNS) and Chief of Air Staff (CAS), the minster said the visit was to mitigate the excruciating psychological impact of the army chief’s death to the family.

Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, former governor of Kano state and leader of the Kawankwasiyya political movement, shocked millions of his supporters on Monday night when in a no bar declaration said he has not anointed any candidate for the 2023 gubernatorial race in Kano.
Kwankwaso’s latest stand was a subtle vote against the 2019 gubernatorial candidate, Abba Kabir Yusuf who had grown in strength and political stamina over the past few years in Kano.
The leader of the Kwankwasiyya movement in unmistakable terms at a stakeholders meeting held at his palatial mansion declared “The party (PDP) and the Kwankwasiyya movement are yet to decide on its flag bearer for the 2023 gubernatorial race in Kano”.
