ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has decided to form a committee to investigate the massive power breakdown that plunged most of the country into darkness in early hours of Sunday. As per details, the committee will include prominent engineers from the regulator as well as private sector. The committee will investigate the reasons behind the breakdown. On the other hand, National Transmission and Dispatch Company (NTDC) on Sunday also announced to form a committee for inquiry into massive power breakdown.

Four-member panel to probe power breakdown

January 11, 2021 ISLAMABAD/LAHORE/KARACHI: The National Transmission and Dispatch Company (NTDC) has constituted a four-member inquiry committee to look into facts/causes of collapse of power system late Saturday night, which plunged most of the country into dark. According to the NTDC notification, the committee includes GM North Malik Javeed Mehmood, GM technical NTDC Ghulam Abbas Memon, CE NTDC Atif Mujeeb Usmani and Chief Engineer (Network) NPCC Sajjad Akhtar. Malik Javed Mehmood would be convener of the committee, while the other three would be its members. The committee would probe into reasons/facts leading to collapse of the power system.

Seven officials suspended over nationwide power breakdown   Published On Seven officials suspended over nationwide power breakdown ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - The Central Power Generation Company has suspended seven of its employees working under Plant Manager-III for showing negligence that caused the electricity failure. According to details, the suspended employees include Adl. Plant Manager Suhail Ahmed, Junior Engineer Deedar Ali Channa, Foreman, Ali Hassan Golo, Operator Ayyaz Hussain Dahar and Saeed Ahmed , besides attendants Siraj Ahmed Memon and Ilyas Ahmed. Meanwhile, the NTDC constituted a four-member committee to look into facts and caused of collapse of power system, which plunged most of the country into dark.
