ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaisar on Thursday set up high-level committee to liaise with political parties regarding the establishment of a parliamentary committee for electoral reform, Dunya News reported.
The Prime Minister had written a letter to the Speaker to set up a parliamentary committee for electoral reforms. Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaiser has formed a committee to hold talks with the opposition parties.
The five-member committee will hold talks with opposition parties regarding electoral reforms. The committee includes Pervez Khattak, Fawad Chaudhry, Asad Umar, Babar Awan and Malik Amir Dogar.
One more corona patient dies in Bahawalpur

BAHAWALPUR: One more corona patient died at the Nawab Sir Sadiq Muhammad Khan Hospital, which raised the total death toll to 125 in the district on Sunday.
According to Dr Muhammad Zakir, focal person of the District Health Authority, six patients had been recovered from the disease while the active corona patients in the district were 81.
Out of total corona patents, three were admitted to the Nawab Sir Sadiq Muhammad Hospital
while the remaining 78 patients had been quarantined in their homes, he added.

Farmers, residents hold rally against Lahore’s Ravi project

LAHORE: A large number of farmers, residents and industrialists affected by Ravi Riverfront Project staged a protest at Shahdara Chowk here on Monday.
The protesters blocked the main interchange causing a traffic jam for hours on various city roads. Following the traffic jam, CTO visited the Ravi Bridge and passed directions to his team to divert the traffic.
The protesters called the Ravi Riverfront project a robbery of public rights and termed it the death of farmers and area residents. They also chanted slogans against the Punjab government and the Rive Urban Development Authority (RUDA). They were also displaying banners and placards against the project. Addressing the gathering, Mian Mustafa Rashid, convener of Farmers and Victims Committee, alleged that the government had made people fool regarding this project and showed them false dreams at an inauguration ceremony of the project.

Pir Adil Shah Gillani of the PML-N bagged 43 votes against PTI’s Malik Sajid Mahmood who bagged 26 votes.
The mayor-elect is the custodian of the shrine of Pir Imam Ali Gillani located in Rata Hotar near Bari Imam shrine. In the Nov 2015 local government elections, he was elected as chairman of the Bari Imam Union Council and member of the Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad (MCI).
