MALIBU On December 14, the Malibu City Council reached the decision to extend the deadline until November 8, 2021, to apply to rebuild non-conforming homes destroyed during the 2018 Woolsey Fire without having to bring the structure into compliance or seek variances in order to facilitate residents in rebuilding homes that were destroyed.
“The Woolsey Fire was the worst natural disaster in our City’s history, and the City is committed to doing everything possible to help fire victims to rebuild and get back into their homes, from rebuild fee waivers to creating an expedited permitting process for rebuilding like-for-like homes, and now extending this important deadline. In 2018, the City Council made Woolsey Fire rebuilding and recovery the City’s top priority after public safety, and we are delivering on that promise,” stated Malibu Mayor Mikke pierson.

MALIBU The Malibu Chamber of Commerce will implement a rewards loyalty program for customers and businesses alike. The program is called Malibu Rewards, which will offer customers reward points for spending at certain local businesses. A business will need to register a credit card or multiple credit cars at maliburewards.com to join the rewards program. The registered card(s) will be of use at participating businesses for a person to earn rewards instantly throughout the city of Malibu.
Saltwater Software is the company collaborating with the City of Malibu, which is a software company that helps districts and businesses, and their Chief Operating Officer is Malibu Mayor Mikke Pierson.

MALIBU On Monday, December 14, three Malibu City Councilmembers, Bruce Lee Silverstein, Steve Uhring and Paul Grisanti, were all sworn in during the city council meeting zoom call.
The councilmembers were newly elected during the Malibu General Municipal election held on November 3. Their four-year terms began when they were sworn in with councilmember Paul Grisanti elected as Mayor Pro-Tem.
“Even while our community and out country are struggling though the worst public health crisis in our lifetimes, our City maintains democracy and service to the community, so it is a great day when we can preside over this basic, important process of out City, as we welcome the new members of the Malibu City Council…We congratulate them, welcome them, and look forward to working together to face the many challenges before us and serve the community during these unprecedented times,” said Malibu Mayor Mikke Pierson.
