UPDATE - 1 p.m. Tuesday: The Storm Station is keeping a close eye on a cluster of thunderstorms near the Texas-Louisiana state line. These storms will continue to move along a stationary front that is straddling southern Louisiana, plus additional storms may develop along it. This front is separating extremely humid air near the coast from less humid air to the north.
A Heat Advisory will go into effect for all of southern Louisiana at Noon on Monday. Feels-like temperatures could inch closer to 110° by peak heating on Memorial Day.
The heat streak doesn t let up over Memorial Day weekend. Look for lots of heat, humidity, and sunshine. A weak front could deliver a little relief next week.
UPDATE - 12 a.m. Friday: Though showers and thunderstorms may continue into the night, the threat for severe weather and heavy rain has paused. Earlier activity used up most of the storm energy and it will take daytime warming and the passage of a warm front to recharge the atmosphere on Friday.
