British Columbia’s government is providing $23.4 million to 49 First Nations and local governments across the province to help reduce risks of natural disasters caused by climate change.
Three years into the COVID-19 pandemic, the racism experienced by Metro Vancouver's Asian community have continued and many have stopped reporting the incidents, advocates say.
That includes surpluses of $583 million in Vancouver, $305 million in Surrey and $432 million in Burnaby which continues to have the largest financial reserves of any city in the province, at $1.9 billion in net financial assets.
