KUALA LUMPUR, Dec. 23 (Xinhua) Malaysia s inflation, as measured by consumer price index (CPI), declined 1.7 percent in November as compared to the same month of the preceding year, official data showed Wednesday.
Malaysian Statistics Department said in a statement that the decrease in the overall index was attributed by the decline in transport (-11.1 percent); housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels (-3.3 percent); clothing and footwear (-0.5 percent) and furnishings, household equipment and routine household maintenance (-0.1 percent).
Nevertheless, food and non-alcoholic beverages increased by 1.4 percent year on year.
Meanwhile, CPI for the period of January to November 2020 decreased 1.1 percent as compared to the same period last year.
