“THERE are a couple of initiatives trying to reshape our politics, ” a politico told me over WhatsApp.
My curiosity was piqued. Politics in the time of Covid-19 has turned me off. There is too much politicking when the country needs to be focused on fighting this pandemic.
There are one too many politicians dreaming of becoming Prime Minister. Some politicians are playing politics for the sake of politics. And politicians who are doing whatever they can to cling to power.
The politico explained that ABIM (the Muslim Youth Movement of Malaysia) is pushing for Bangsa Malaysia. Gabungan Bertindak Malaysia (GBM) and Civil Society Platform for Reforms are working on People’s Manifesto.

YOURSAY | Can Anwar rise from the ashes?
A
VP Biden: I concur with you, Teluk Intan MP Nga Kor Ming. For the past 20 years, PKR president Anwar Ibrahim did not sell his soul to the other side. He held steadfast to the mandate that was given by the rakyat to PKR and Pakatan Harapan.
This is unlike the treacherous Bersatu lot and the old man s blue-eyed boy who was sabotaging PKR from the inside.
Anwar’s children are ordinary citizens not sitting on any boards and drawing fat allowances like the others. In Nurul Izzah, he has a worthy successor when the time comes.
COMMENT | Going beyond a Malaysian Malaysia

COMMENT | Kit (Lim Kit Siang) defined DAP’s vision for a Malaysia that belongs to all from very early on. Much as the party is maligned as fighting for non- Malay interests through the ‘Malaysian Malaysia’ idea, particularly that of the Chinese, the vision he laid out in the 1960s and continues to uphold is much more than the caricature version put forward by his opponents.
To him, on the one hand, it is about convincing the Malays that Malaysia is also home to non-Malays as they love this nation as much as anyone else; on the other hand, it is also about convincing the non-Malays that the struggle is not to fight for any racial interest but for the common interest of all Malaysians.
YOURSAY | Hadi, what has PAS done to promote unity?
Modified12:29 am
Goliath: PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang, if you mean that disunity means all Malays have to support Perikatan Nasional (PN), one single coalition, then the answer is wrong. That’s not unity.
Malays are united based on the Islamic religion and raised as Malaysians under our national constitution. It is not when all of them join PAS or PN. Do you know the difference?
PAS is a disgrace for this country and an absolute force of destruction for modern Malaysia. Do not subscribe to such fake and intolerable political ideals.
