Amid a shortage of foreign labour since the Covid-19 outbreak, Malaysia is seeking to reduce its dependency on workers from abroad through digitalisation, an official said.
PETALING JAYA: The digital economy is set to get a boost when the Multimedia Super Corridor (MSC) status companies, which have been operating since 1996, transition to Malaysia Digital (MD) status companies.
More Islamic industrial providers are needed to further strengthen Malaysia's position as the leading Islamic fintech hub, said home-grown digital economy enabler Cardtrend Systems.
IN a report by Deloitte titled, “The Next Wave – Emerging Digital Life in South and South-East Asia”, it was stated that 78% of consumers from the South and South-East Asian regions have increased their use of digital services during the pandemic.
