When im leading my real life in the philly suburbs, pumping gas, shopping for groceries, i speak to people for whom the issues are a mixed bag. They are liberal on some, conservative on others. You would never know that from watching television. In the last 30 years weve experienced unprecedented polarization, consider that in the early 80s on Ronald Reagans watch, a fulling 60 of the senate was compromised of moderates. Today every Senate Republican is more conservative than every Senate Democrat. And every Senate Democrat is more liberal than any Senate Republican. Compromise has become a dirty word. Thats the same time period thats marked the rise of a polarized media, i dont believe in coincidence, i see a causal connection, im trying a different approach. By covering the news of the day

Its that crisis as well as the ongoing ones in the middle east that are fueling a debate over whether president obama, the president who can take credit for the capture of Osama Bin Laden and an increase in drone strikes in the war on terror and who will preside over the end of the wars in iraq and afghanistan, whether that president obama is projecting american weakness around the world. They dont have light weapons, and to not give them the ability to defend themselves as this continues to go on is incredibly shameful. Okay.
