Women farmers in Malawi have been advised to embrace crop diversification as one way of beating the effects of climate change that the country has always been experiencing over the years.
Speaking during Independent Dialogue on Gender Equality for Food Systems Transformation in Malawi held at Ufulu Garden in Lilongwe on Friday, a lecturer at Lilongwe University of Agriculture and Natural resources (LUANAR), Dr. Judith Kamoto, said crop diversification provides smallholder farmers with a diversity of diet, improves their income and nutrition security.
