Boko Haram Fighters Reportedly Capture 60 Rival ISWAP Terrorists, Including Commanders

  A Boko Haram commander has been seen in a video showering praises on the fighters of the insurgent group for their victory and for displacing the rival Islamic State's West Africa Province (ISWAP) terrorists in the Baga area of Borno State, Northeast Nigeria.   There has been a series of clashes between Boko Haram and ISWAP in the Northeast which have resulted in the death of hundreds of terrorists on both sides. Both groups have vowed to wage war against themselves rather than the security forces.  

Bauchi commissioner, popular cleric clash over alleged defamatory statement

Daily Post Nigeria Published The Bauchi State Commissioner for Local Governments and Chieftaincy Affairs, Honourable Nuhu Zaki, has petitioned the State police command over alleged defamatory statements made against him by a popular cleric, Imam Idris Abdul’aziz, during the recent Ramadan fasting period. According to a press statement made available to journalists in Bauchi on Saturday by his counsels, the commissioner stated that he would do everything possible within the law to pursue the case to a logical conclusion. The statement informed that the cleric, popularly called Malam Idris, commenced a diatribe against the commissioner and his principal, Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, precisely on 2nd April, 2021.

Bauchi Govt suspends preacher for allegedly castigating Prophet Mohammed s companions

Daily Post Nigeria Published The Bauchi State government has suspended an Islamic preacher, Malam Abubakar Idris from further preaching and leading congregational prayers in any part of the State for what it termed “interest of peace”. Malam Idris’s suspension was conveyed in a letter addressed to the Azare, Katagum Local Government Area-based cleric, signed by the state Commissioner for Religious Affairs, Community Relations and Social Welfare, Alhaji Ahmad Aliyu Jalam. The letter, with reference number: MORAG&CR/S/OFF/04/11/26, dated 27th April, 2021, is titled, “Violation of the ethics of preaching and sermons in the state”. Jalam stated that report at the government’s disposal revealed that Idris was castigating the companions of Prophet Mohammed in his preaching.

Daily Post Nigeria Published Interior Minister, Rauf Aregbesola congratulated Nigerian workers for witnessing this year’s celebration. In a statement by the Permanent Secretary, Shuaib Belgore, the minister hailed civil servants for their patience, understanding and support. Aregbesola commended them for driving the policies of the President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration “in its determination to move the country to the next level of socio-economic development”. The minister called for more dedication and patriotism, assuring that the current challenges will soon be over. Aregbesola stresses that government is putting all strategies in place to curb the insecurity in Nigeria. “I call on the Labour force and all patriotic citizens to be fully committed to the task of putting insecurity to a permanent end as much as possible,” the statement added.
