The National Caretaker Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has initiated moves to reconcile the Kwara State Governor, Mr. Abdulrahaman Abdulrazaq; the Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, and the Minister of State for Transportation, Senator Gbemisola Saraki.
The crisis of confidence among the three leaders has led to a split of the party into two factions in the state, with one faction backing the governor while the other faction is supporting Mohammed and Saraki.
The apparent misunderstanding between the three leaders came to a peak when the Mala Buni-led caretaker committee of the party removed the state Chairman, Hon. Bashir Bolarinwa, and replaced him with his deputy, Alhaji Samari Abdullahi.

The Mala Buni-led caretaker committee on Tuesday inaugurated Nigeria’s APC women and youth mobilisation team ahead of its forthcoming membership registration and revalidation exercise.
The exercise, slated for December 12, 2020, was adjourned to January 2021 given some factors peculiar to that period that could have hampered the participation of its members.
In his address at the party’s national secretariat in Abuja on Tuesday, Mr Buni said the appointment of the tentative ten-member committee is an extension of his team’s reconciliatory moves and “breath of new life into the party.”

Last week, what started as an acquiescence by President Muhammadu Buhari to the invitation from the House of Representatives to address the legislators eventually ended in a snub.
In a motion passed by the green chamber the previous week, the lawmakers had invited Mr Buhari over the worsening security situation in the country, with the latter agreeing to make an appearance on Thursday.
However, his All Progressives Congress (APC) party members, at their national executive council meeting, where the tenure of Mala Buni-led caretaker committee was extended, had a different plan.
Governors of the ruling APC and some lawmakers prevailed upon Mr Buhari to ditch the invitation because of the implication his appearance might have on them and their party, especially because there were talks of possible embarassment being planned by the opposition People’s Democratic Party.
