Before the official opening of the forum and the start of the plenary session, Aleksandr Lukashenko held a number of meetings with his colleagues, including the leaders of Azerbaijan, Serbia, Cuba, Zimbabwe, Equatorial Guinea, Congo, Togo and Botswana.
In Expo City the Belarusian head of state was welcomed by UAE President Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and UN Secretary General António Guterres. All in all, about 150 heads of state and government are expected to attend the summit on 1-2 December.
"As you know, our delegation, led by President Aleksandr Lukashenko, has arrived in the UAE and started its work within the framework of the World Climate Summit," Anatoly Glaz said. "Bilateral meetings have already begun, and there will be more in the coming days."
