At least 11 traders conveying onion and other farm produce from the Goronyo Local Government Area of Sokoto State to Niger State have been confirmed dead
The Nigerian police have confirmed that at least 11 people were killed in a major accident on the Maiyama/Koko Road in Kebbi State. It was learnt that the fatal accident involved a DAF Trailer with the registration number SKK837X being driven by an unidentified driver. According to the Kebbi State police spokesman, Nafiu Abubakar, the ill-fated van carried 65 passengers, all males from Sokoto State. Aside from the passengers, the trailer was transporting bags of onions, bags of beans, and six motorcycles from Sokoto's Goronyo Local Government Area to Niger State.
