runs, he writes in part, we need the president to say to the gop oil lobby i m going to approve this, but it will kill me with my base. sasha and malia won t be talking to me so i ve got to get something big in return. it is hard to anticipate him doing this at the same time as a making a decision on the keystone permit, push ahead with regulating keystone gas emissions from power plants in the united states. everyone agrees that will have a huge impact on carbon emissions in this country. the biggs source of carbon emissions now, he could adopt that and add to his climate legacy. from the washington post, thank you so much for your insight. we do appreciate it. thank you. [ bleep ] oh, we all remember that up next, what happened on this day
arthritis and affects 4% of americans. good morning, everybody. i m thomas roberts. president obama s first live comments on the july s job report. despite the good numbers, are we already in a double dip recession? this after yesterday s massive stock market bleed. are the recent washington sh shenanigans to blame? three of the gop candidates signed a controversial pledge to federally abolish same-sex marriage. we ll see you at the top of the hour. looking forward to that. thank you, thomas. we just heard that judge belvin perry in orlando, florida, making a decision on whether or not the time served by casey anthony, when she was being held before that trial would serve as time served for her probation. he has decided, he has just announced, as you see lawyers,
there is no war in these people s eyes unless it is obama s war. you need questions but not these questions and not with this level of hypocrisy. what about the patriotism? what about, you know, the president making a decision. the freedom fighters need help. we ve helped people like this in the past. but all of a sudden the republicans are finding all kinds of problems with president obama after nine days. yeah. you re right. and when they re finding the problems and the problems they are finding, the hypocrisy is rank. the very top while they re complaining about unilateralism, lack of consultation coming from their side, i mean, this is a group who we said are they going to be digging themselves some kind of precedent hole by expanding executive power under the bush administration such that when the presidency is in the hands of the other party they ll be in a tough spot? well, you know, they have no qualms. it was fine for bush. it s not fine for obama. i think you and i, we st

i have no idea. what did you make of sawyer and others who tried to pin down the former pentagon chief on how much he was wrong about iraq and i ve read his book. he doesn t say he was wrong about very much. no, it doesn t. stef nop plis probably came closest to nailing him on some points and i thought sawyer s segment was weird, where we found out about family tragedy going on which i thought was completely irrelevant to his making a decision to send basically four and a half thousand men and women to die in iraq and afghanistan. and it s been four and a half years since he s addressed the media, wasn t really interested in that. this is part of the you know, the legacy of the 1980s and 90s when the big thing was to have a get with an author with a new book. in the internet age, we ve all kind of moved on from that. i would be much more interested
