and tonight, some camel horn. let s go outfront. i m erin burnett outfront tonight. markets plunged today. 297 points for the dow. the two-day drop, as i indicated is close to 600. 573 points. it s a big story and we are covering it tonight. but first, we re starting with some breaking developments regarding herman cain. tonight, a report that one of the women who accused herman cain of sexual harassment wants to speak out. the washington post getting everyone s attention after posting a quote from the woman s attorney who told the post, it s very frustrating that herman cain is going around bad-mouthing the two complainants and my client is blocked by a confidentiality agreement. he s asking the restaurant association to release his client from that agreement. it has been a gut-wrenching 24 hours for herman cain. allegations that he sexually assaulted two women have his campaign back on its heels. actually wasn t the allegations or the fact that the women reported
the region are calling snowtober. right now 2 million people are without power. four states have declared emergencies new york, new jersey, connecticut and massachusetts. officials predicted the downed trees were going to be a major problem and they were right. take a look. the storm is being blamed for three deaths so far. a man in pennsylvania was killed when a snow-covered tree fell into his house. two others died in connecticut and massachusetts. people in connecticut have lost power there. they re being told it will be a while before it comes back. the governor says they ve been waiting for road conditions to improve before sending out repair crews. we re covering all angles of the major storm. chad meyers is on the ground in pennsylvania where there are massive power outages and our alexandra steele is in the severe weather center with more on the snowstorm and what travelers can expect today. let s start in pennsylvania. socked by the snow. our chad meyers is in

outfront on a friday night, the most shaky republican race since 1964. six different candidates have led in the national polls so far this year. it s amazing to think about it. but there is a big reason for it. the tea party. a cnn poll shows that the republican party is literally split down the middle. half of them support the tea party or are active members. well, 49, 51, some call that a mandate. i call that a split. the tea party is really the tea parties. christina boterri from the national tea party federation told us there are at least 5,000 tea party groups. there is no national umbrella group and there is no one manifesto. case in point, michele bachmann. one tea party support group called on her to quit the presidential race today. the other tea partiers have endorsed her. minnesota congresswoman responded to the call for her to quit on the situation room earlier with wolf. it certainly isn t a blow to my campaign because i ve had nonstop support coming out of
