McDONOUGH â Henry County voters will head to the polls on March 16 to decide whether to approve the sixth version of the one-cent sales tax, also known as the the Education Special Local Option Sales Tax.
On Monday the Board of Education voted unanimously to place the E-SPLOST VI referendum on the ballot to allow the school district to collect as much as $325 million between January 2023 and December 2028 and to issue $210 million in general obligation bonds.
The project list includes additions to existing schools, technology and transportation upgrades, building repairs and upgrades and three new schools. A new administrative office and renovation to the existing facility has also been included.
