L-R Women s Triathlon Competes in First Ever Event

The Lenoir-Rhyne Women’s Triathlon Team opened the inaugural season of competition at the Ice Breaker Duathlon against 5-time defending National Champion Queens University. The Royals used an aggressive start on the first 2.5km run to force the host Bears to chase throughout the challenging 20km bike course. LR freshmen Emily Hayes (Scottsdale, AZ) and Andie Kuipers (Harare, Zimbabwe) worked together for a strong showing on the bike that brought them into the second transition in 5th and 6th place as they headed out onto the final 2.5km run.
