Macedonia s Makedonski Telekom posts steep rise in net profit in Q1 Romania SKOPJE (North Macedonia), May 10 (SeeNews) - North Macedonia s Makedonski Telekom [MSE:TEL] said that its net profit rose by an annual 49% to 466.4 million denars ($9.2 million/7.5 million euro) in the first quarter due to higher revenue and lower expenses. Makedonski Telekom s operating revenue increased by 2.5% year-on-year to 2.7 billion denars in the first three months of 2021, the telecommunications company said in an interim financial statement filed with the Skopje bourse last week. Domestic sales increased by 3.7% to 2.6 billion denars, while sales abroad fell 24.7% to 81.9 million denars. The company s total operating expenses totalled 2.2 billion denars in the January-March period, down 3% on an annual comparison basis.

Skopje bourse s blue-chip index down 1.2% in trading week ended Mar 5 Source: Pixabay SKOPJE (North Macedonia), March 5 (SeeNews) - The blue-chip MBI-10 index of the stock exchange in Skopje closed at 4,948.52 points on Friday, 1.2% down compared with its closing value of 5,006.57 on February 26, bourse data showed. Turnover on the official market of the Macedonian Stock Exchange (MSE) declined to 136 million denars ($2.6 million/2.2 million euro) this week from 484.44 million denars last week. Komercijalna Banka [MSE:KMB] contributed the largest single portion of the trading turnover on the MSE this week, of 58.7 million denars, as 7,538 of the lender s shares changed hands in a total of 184 transactions.
