Baltimore County Police are said to be responding to a request from a county school board chairwoman who says social media activities toward the board constitute “bullying, intimidation, racism and a safety risk” to herself and several board members.
The Baltimore Sun is reporting that the department plans to increase security at upcoming school board meetings.
The report says that the board president complained that members were being bullied by social media activists.
The Sun quotes board president Makeda Scott saying she will not tolerate social media activities that she says include bullying, intimidation and racism.

Baltimore County Executive Johnny Olszewski s upcoming budget proposal will include more than $2 billion for education.
Olszewski announced Wednesday that his proposed budget is $40 million over the required maintenance of effort, the single largest dollar increase over that line in the county s history.
“The pandemic has been especially difficult for our students, families and educators, and ensuring our education system’s recovery requires unprecedented investments,” Olszewski said in a statement. “My proposed budget includes historic investments to support our teachers, staff, and administrators as they work in the coming year to address the needs of all of our students.”
