On Wednesday, the GOP-controlled New Hampshire House passed a two-year, $13 billion state budget crafted in a process Gov. Chris Sununu has already slammed the budget, Democrats are not happy either.It was a compromise budget within the House Republican caucus. Conservative and ultra-conservative GOP state representatives united to pass the budget, reaching a consensus they could not attain when they last controlled the House four years ago.“Families across New Hampshire have had to tighten their belts over the last year during the pandemic and state government must be able to do the same,” Republican Majority Leader Jason Osborne said. Democrats also stood in opposition.“You have before you a budget that downshifts to our local communities and underfunds the needs of our citizens,” said Rep. Mary Jane Wallner, D-Concord. The Republican-led New Hampshire House passed two anti-abortion bills Wednesday during a chaotic session held at an indoor sports complex where Democrats walked off the field and the speaker struggled to play referee.
