section ii of the voting rights act, and they ordered alabama s congressional act to be redrawn ahead of 2024. this is involve ing louisiana s districts, and this is because only one district was majority of black despite black voters are making up 33% of the state s population. so louisiana arguing that they should have at least two districts majority black, so that they were fairly represented in the elections. this is significant, because of the supreme court upholding section ii of the voting akct, and this could lead to others challenging the majority voting lines. and it is interesting for districts having to go back to
