The Department for the Environment, Food & Rural Affairs (Defra) has begun the search for a technical advisor to monitor the Thames Tideway Tunnel s cost and schedule.
The technical advisor will provide Defra and the government with engineering, commissioning and major construction project expertise to “protect the government’s interests in the project”.
This will include identifying risks that could lead to delays, and advising Defra on possible steps to mitigate these risks.
Defra is looking to re-procure an advisor due to the expiry of the current contract, awarded to OTB Engineering in 2016. The invitation to tender will shortly be published, which will contain further details of the scope of the role.
