State police investigating suspicious death Updated Jan 23, 2021; Dashawn Cornellius Green-Brewster, 27, was discovered dead Thursday along Mulligan Hill Road in West Wheatfield Township, authorities said. A Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) employee was inspecting a nearby drain along Mulligan Hill Road when he found what appeared to be a body in a grassy area of the roadway, Trooper Clifford Greenfield said Friday in a news release. Indiana County Coroner Jerry Overman Jr. pronounced Green-Brewster dead at the scene and subsequently identified him as a resident of Philadelphia. An autopsy to determine the cause and manner of death was conducted Friday at ForensicDX in Windber. Final results of the autopsy and toxicology are not available due to ongoing examination and investigation.

Man killed in south Grand Rapids shooting Updated Dec 27, 2020; Facebook Share GRAND RAPIDS, MI - A man died from gunfire late Sunday in south Grand Rapids, police said in a release. Officers responded around 6:30 p.m., Dec. 27 to a report of shots fired in the area of Franklin Avenue and Dolbee Street Southeast, said the Grand Rapids Police Department. Upon initial investigation, police said they discovered a 28-year-old man with gunshot wounds in front of a residence in the 900 block of Thomas Street Southeast. The victim died on scene around 7 p.m. despite immediate life-saving efforts, police said. No suspects have been identified at this time, police said. Grand Rapids police detectives from the Major Case Team are investigating alongside the Forensic Services Unit, police said. The Kent County Medical Examiner’s Office is performing the autopsy.
