EAGLE POINT, Ore. The man killed in an officer-involved shooting in Eagle Point on Tuesday night fired at a deputy before officers returned fire, according to Jackson County Sheriff Nathan Sickler.
Officers from the Eagle Point Police Department were first on the scene, responding to a 911 call for a domestic disturbance involving a firearm in the 100-block of Idlewood Drive at 7:21 p.m.

EAGLE POINT, Ore. Law enforcement officers from multiple agencies swarmed an area of Eagle Point near Church on the Hill for a shots fired investigation on Tuesday night. The Jackson County Sheriff s Office confirmed just after 10:45 p.m. that this was an officer-involved shooting.
According to the agency, JCSO deputies and officers from Eagle Point Police responded to reports of a domestic disturbance in the 100-block of Idlewood Drive shortly before 7:30 p.m. Before officers arrived at the scene, a man left the location in an SUV, accompanied by another man.
