JOHOR BARU: A total of 288 secondary schools in Johor have been sanitised ahead of the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) examinations, set to start on Monday (Feb 22).
State Fire and Rescue Department director Datuk Yahaya Madis said that they began sanitising schools two days ago with the help of other agencies.
He said they sanitised 35 schools after receiving applications from them, adding that other schools were sanitised by the district Health Department, non-governmental organisations and school staff themselves.
He said this at a press conference after attending the sanitisation operation at SMK Majidee Baru 2 here on Sunday (Feb 21).
He added that the department has sanitised a total of 210 schools state-wide since March last year.
