Share Via Email   |  A+A A- By PTI MUMBAI: Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray on Saturday said he had tried to contact Prime Minister Narendra Modi on phone regarding the oxygen supply for the state but the PM was not available since he was busy campaigning for the West Bengal elections. Speaking to industrialists and representatives of trade bodies like FICCI and CII via video conferencing, the CM also said the Centre was cooperating with the Maharashtra government.

Piyush Goyal slams CM Thackeray, says Maharashtra received highest quantity of oxygen ANI | Updated: Apr 17, 2021 23:38 IST New Delhi [India], April 17 (ANI): Maharashtra has so far received the highest quantity of Oxygen, said Union Minister Piyush Goyal on Saturday while hitting out at the Uddhav Thackeray-led government for their gimmicks on the matter. Saddened to see @OfficeOfUT s gimmicks on oxygen. GoI, with all stakeholders, is ensuring maximum oxygen production in India. We are currently producing 110% of Oxygen generating capacity and diverting all available Oxygen from industrial use to medical use, he tweeted. This comes days after the Maharashtra government, the worst COVID-affected state in the country, flagged a shortage of oxygen.

Piyush Goyal accuses Uddhav Thackeray of playing petty politics, claims Maharashtra has received maximum quantity of oxygen

New Delhi, April 17 Union Minister Piyush Goyal on Saturday hit out at Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, accusing him of gimmicks and playing petty politics over availability of medical oxygen in the state. The reaction came after media reports suggested  that Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray called PMO for urgent supply of oxygen and Remdesivir but was told he is in Bengal and he will contact him when he gets back. Maharashtra,  Goyal said, had so far received the highest quantity of oxygen in the country, his remarks coming a day after Prime Minister Narendra Modi reviewed the status of oxygen availability across 12 high-burden states and asked officials to ensure synergy across ministries and state governments to ensure its adequate supply.

Piyush Goyal attacks Maharashtra CM over oxygen supply SECTIONS Last Updated: Apr 17, 2021, 04:19 PM IST Share Synopsis In a letter addressed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Thackeray had said that medical oxygen requirement in the state is projected to reach 2,000 metric tonnes per day by April-end from the present consumption of 1,200 MT per day. Agencies On Friday, Goyal had said that the Prime Minister in his review told that the Centre and states should work with synergy in this crisis. Union minister Piyush Goyal on Saturday attacked Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray on the issue of availability of oxygen in the state, saying that Maharashtra has so far received the highest quantity of oxygen in India and the Centre is in regular touch with state governments to assess their needs.
