Massive response to first Indian Army recruitment rally in Jammu since COVID-19 outbreak

Synopsis An overwhelming response from the exuberant youths has been recorded and approximately 40,000 candidates have registered online. COVID-19 protocol is being followed during the rally by all participants and staff, the spokesman said.

Around 40,000 youths have registered online for the ongoing Army recruitment rally, the first in Jammu division after the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic last year, a defence spokesman said on Saturday.
The February 15-March 6 rally for recruiting various categories of soldiers is being conducted under the aegis of Tiger Division at Sunjuwan Military Station here.

JAMMU/SRINAGAR, Dec 16: The Army and Ex-servicemen today celebrated Vijay Diwas in Jammu and Kashmir and other parts of the country and paid homage to soldiers who laid down their lives in the 1971 India-Pakistan war.
Lieutenant Governor, Union Territory of J&K, Manoj Sinha paid tribute to the martyrs, who laid down their lives for the Nation during the 1971 war. The day commemorates the historic victory of Indian Armed Forces and the indomitable spirit of the brave soldiers.
In his message, the Lt Governor said, “On Vijay Diwas, let us remember the valour of our soldiers and their unwavering commitment to defend India’s sovereignty and protect human dignity. We are eternally indebted to our brave soldiers for their courage and selfless service to the nation for protecting our frontiers from the enemies and maintaining peace in the country,” he added.

JAMMU: Army Commander, Western Command, Lt Gen RP Singh, visited ‘Tiger Division’ here.
Defence spokesman here on Sunday said that the Army Commander was briefed by Lt Gen Upendra Dwivedi, Corps Commander Rising Star Corps and Maj Gen Vijay B Nair, GOC Tiger Division on the operational situation and security scenario in Jammu Sector.
The Army Commander interacted with troops deployed in forward areas and complimented them for maintaining a high degree of operational preparedness. (AGENCIES)
