for black people. because they were located on the sea islands in south america, once slavery ended they were able to hold on to their west african culture and hang on to their own, isolated from the mainland culture. white people did not live on the island for the most part so they came up with their own unique african-american culture. many members of this community see their culture at risk. what are they doing to try to preserve their culture? i mean, it s funny. if you look at the entire all the episodes of the united shades of america, gentrification is an area where they take over the area like in hilton head and turn them into resort property. they don t always have the people and they can turn the fertile farm rice land and history into resorts. what do they do about it? they you know, we have to get the word out.
