Brevard County Emergency Management Director John Scott said his department, in conjunction with the Department of Health and other government agencies, is trying to get the vaccine out to underserved communities, including those with residents who may have transportation or technology barriers.
As part of that outreach, 10 four-hour vaccine clinics have been scheduled this month at various parks and community centers in the county stretching from Mims to Micco.
Scott said the county is continuing to focus on bringing the shot closer to the community.
But the first of the 10 events held Wednesday at the Wickham Park Community Center in Melbourne attracted just 19 people for an event that could have handled up to 400.
