A month after the Freeport Town Council asked the Conservation Commission to search for a compromise that would allow a planned Hedgehog Mountain bike trail system to move forward, the commission unanimously decided Tuesday evening that it would not amend its recommended prohibition on bikes on the mountain's summit.
Freeport's town council and conservation commission will hold a public forum at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Town Hall to workshop plans for an extensive system of mountain bike trails on Hedgehog Mountain, which proponents say will draw riders from around the region.
