Emme Ayers, a senior at Waterville Senior High School, has been selected to receive the 2021 Principal’s Award, according to a news release from Principal Brian Laramee.
The award, sponsored by the Maine Principals’ Association, is given in recognition of a high school senior’s academic excellence, outstanding school citizenship, and leadership.
The Principal’s Award is presented in most Maine public and private high schools by member principals of the MPA, the professional association which represents Maine’s school administrators.

Adult community education classes in Waterville go remote because of COVID-19 case
The entire wing of Mid-Maine Regional Adult Community Education at Waterville Senior High School closed Wednesday until Jan. 4, while Clinton Elementary School reported a positive case of COVID-19, the seventh in Maine School Administrative District 49.

A staff member at Mid-Maine Regional Adult Community Education located at Waterville Senior High School tested positive for COVID-19 Wednesday, prompting the closure of that wing of the school and requiring students to learn remotely until Jan. 4.
Waterville Schools Superintendent Eric Haley emailed the school community Wednesday saying deep cleaning will be done starting Wednesday in the adult community education wing, where students and staff enter and exit only from that department and do not mix with the high school population.
