we are treating them as live devices. reporter: but none actually exploded. a clue, say former investigators, who say despite handling by couriers, mail rooms, even returned by u.s. mail, nothing exploded. i think they were made to be found and, again, just to deliver the message of fear and terror and to, you know, garnish attention. reporter: while investigators have released few details, the pictures and even x-rays released do provide clues to several bomb and explosive experts talking to cnn, including former fbi hazardous device expert ray lopez. if he s trying to kill somebody, he s the worth bomber in the world. if he s trying to scare us, he did a very good job. reporter: the devices are made with pvc pipe. packed are shrapnel, all easily available. the crude design also easily found on the internet. what is unique is just so many
so whoever put this together was trying to make them perhaps even more deadly by putting projectiles into the devices. now, these are rudimentary, crude devices. whoever made this perhaps could have gotten a recipe for this off the internet. but make no mistake, these are real devices, and they could have hurt somebody. and as you pointed out, you know, they may have been addressed to john brennan or to somebody else, but these are typically handled by mail carriers, clerks in the mail rooms. so someone could have gotten hurt, and that is a great big concern for the authorities that are investigating this tonight, that somebody could get hurt, perhaps because there are additional other devices that are still making their way through the system, through the mail, and could show up in the next couple of days, don. just because they re crude doesn t make them any less potent. thank you, evan. thank you, kaitlan. i appreciate your reporting this evening. we re going to discuss trump s co
if any of these bombs had exploded, postal workers and mailrooms and delivery personnel, they probably would have been the ones injured or killed. the targets and the names on those packages. we will stay in close touch. up next, catching a serial bomber, experts explain how they are using the bombs to search for clues and why two targets receive more than one package. he has a couple of businesses there at 375 greenwich and that s where the police responded. dan bongino, if we know that his name was on the package, what does that mean? that means you are going to see a whole lot hell more of this today. get ready for a busy news day. as people come in. i have think what s happening here, i think ainsley was right earlier. i think what happened here is these locations probably got their mail yesterday, some are going to get this today. these packages were most-likely all mailed nut same time window, which is obviously significantly different than the unabomber who was more tactically fixture by separating it by significant amounts of time and delivery of each of these things. that is not what happened here, obviously. these may have all been delivered at the same time, meaning people,, just like this incidents today, are probably just going to discover some of this today in their mail rooms or whatever it may be. i don t think we have seen close to
it takes a little time to go through the system. first it was with george soros and then started so show up on the others. i guarantee you they are looking at people like joe biden, other high profile democrats. it s important, i think, that they get the pictures out of the actual envelopes themselves because have you got people who work in these mail rooms that are going to have to identify that. you also, i think in this system, if there is suspected package, this is true across the country. certainly true on capitol hill, they have bomb sniffing dogs that will come in and take a sen scent of that. get a false or a positive result out of that then they are going to have to deal with it appropriately. but, you know, thank goodness, nothing has gone off at this point. but, if you are working in these mail rooms, i feel for those people. steve: no kidding. we have somebody else on the phone. former new york city police member. lowe polumbo. i understand you actually used to do securit
