Judge Mahube Betty Molemela starts a new job as president of the Supreme Court of Appeal (SCA) with effect from Thursday, June 1, after President Cyril Ramaphosa announced the appointment last week.
Opposition parties have welcomed the appointment of Justice Mahube Betty Molemela as the new President of the Supreme Court of Appeal (SCA) with effect from 1 June 2023.
Judge Mahube Betty Molemela was nominated for the position by President Cyril Ramaphosa in February. She was interviewed by the Judicial Service Commission on Monday and has now been given its thumbs up as well.
The National Association of Democratic Lawyers said it supports Supreme Court of Appeal deputy president Xola Mlungisi Petse for consideration as president of the SCA.
