Al Sadd remained on course of winning a record-extending 18th Amir Cup title after they recorded a comprehensive 3-0 victory over Al Arabi in the first semi-final at Jassim Bin Hamad Stadium last night.
In a match completely dominated by Al Sadd, Nam Tae-hee scored the opener in 11th minute before a clinical hit by Baghdad Bounedjah (56th minute) and Santiago Cazorla’s spot kick in 80th minute sealed victory for the Xavi Hernandez-coached side.
Al Sadd had also defeated Al Arabi in the final of 2020 Amir Cup last December. ‘The Wolves’ will play the Amir Cup final on May 14 against the winner of second semi-final between Al Duhail and Al Rayyan, which will be played tonight at the same venue.
