The Financial and Economic Affairs Committee of Parliament yesterday urged the government to enhance budgetary allocations for infrastructure projects in villages and cities.
Committee chairman Mahmoud Al-Bahrani made the requests to Ministry of Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning.
The committee also urged to increase allocation to the Civil Service Bureau for training programmes, especially in the ministries of Health, Education, Works.
The meeting further discussed the possibility of reducing expenditures for the non-Bahraini jobs by a specific percentage every year, which Al Bahraini said should be set aside for training Bahrain employees.
In a statement to Al-Ayyam, Al-Bahrani said the government promised to come out with a revised budget early next week, pointing out that yesterday’s meeting was the last to discuss the deputies’ opinions.
