Mumbai Police has arrested a man who has been accused of posing as BMC marshal or police officer and extorting money people in the name of fines for not wearing masks.
The accused has been identified as Amit Tawde, 25, a resident of Mulund area in Mumbai. According to police officials, Tawde is unemployed and in order to earn quick money he thought of duping people for not wearing masks. He used to target people at night and escape on his bike.

Mahim Police has booked a member of the Waqf board for allegedly raping a woman who had visited him at his clinic in Mumbai.

Mahim Police in Mumbai has registered a rape case against a member of the Waqf board. The accused has been identified as Dr Mudassir Lambe who is a member of the Waqf board and also a trustee of the Peer Makhdum Saheb Charitable trust.
As per the complaint filed by the victim, Mudassir Lambe raped her on January 28 last year after administering her an injection which made her semiconscious. Mudassir Lambe then raped the woman in his clinic.
