Mumbai: Two held for creating fake bank guarantee | Mumbai News

MUMBAI: The Banking unit of the economic offences wing arrested two persons for creating a fake bank guarantee of Rs 7.2 crore which was submitted to the Directorate General of Hydrocarbon (DGH). The victim had submitted the bank guarantee after he got a mining contract from a government run natural gas company. The victim was given the bogus guarantee by the accused who charged Rs 80 lakh as commission. The cheating amount as per the FIR is Rs 80 lakh. Those arrested are Abdul Farooqui, 43, and Mandar Tendulkar, 40. P Agarwal, a businessman lodged the FIR at Shivaji Park police station and the case was transferred to the EOW.
