After Court Decision Boards Work On Keeping Emergency Dispatching Funded
Oskaloosa, Iowa – A recent district court judge ruling stated the E-911 Board couldn’t enter into a 28E agreement with the Emergency Management Commission. The two boards are working on a short-term and long-term funding solution to provide 911 services to county residents.
The attorneys for the E911 Board and the Mahaska County Emergency Management Commission handed out draft documents that would help outline how 911 services would be funded over the next four months while the group worked on a long-term solution for the future.
The plan is to have a large meeting that will involve the city councils of every community within the county to help hammer out an agreement. Each legal political party within the county has an equal vote on the agreement and isn’t dependent upon the population of the political party or community.
