Several state governments in India have announced school and college closures due to heavy rains. The Gautam Buddh Nagar district administration shut down schools up to class 12 because of rain and waterlogging. Maharashtra s Raigad district will close all schools and colleges amid a "red alert" issued by the weather department. In Karnataka, all schools and colleges in vulnerable areas will remain closed, following a flash flood warning in parts of the state.
